Yang's Dumpling House

YANG'S IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are not familiar with Mr. Yang and his dreamy dumplings, you are missing out.  Yang's had to close in January 2013, due to the strip mall that his little shop was in was being redeveloped.  I have been stalking Mr. Yang ever since.  I needed my Dumplings.  These dumplings have become my new comfort food.  So during 2013 my friends I had cravings for dumplings and attempted to find another place on the East side (because this is where we work) that might satisfy our cravings while we waited for Mr. Yang to re-open.  Nothing compares to Yangs, not even Dai Tai Fung.  Absolutely NOTHING!!!  When I finally discovered where his new space was in Kirkland and then that he was open...I did a very happy dumpling dance.

What makes these dumplings so fabulous..they are made all by hand by Mr. and Mrs Yang.  There are not whole line of guys in the back rolling out the dough or cutting out the little wrappers, it is just them.  Mr. Yang said that he and his wife get up at 3:30 AM to start prepping the the dumplings.  That is some dedication.  Their son also works with them and assists them, and is the waiter working there.  Truly a family affair.  I am curious how or where he learned how to make these dumplings, but they usually are always so busy it is hard to exactly have a conversation.  One day, I will learn more from the master.

Now on to those delicious dumplings.  They always arrive piping got with steam bellowing from them.  Allow a few minutes to cool before biting in.  And yes, I speak from experience.

When  we had visited, they had experienced their first weekend being open. Apparently word had got around.  They were very busy.  They had run out of some ingredients, and some of the other their dumplings were not available.  Yang's has expanded their menu to more than dumplings and steamed buns.  They now offer a variety of soups and spicy beef.   Yang's is located at:  8510 122nd NE in Kirkland.  If you have a food bucket list, Yang's needs to be on this list.
